Frozen Swiss Landscape

In January 2005, Lake Geneva and the surrounding area were hit with a horrific ice storm. Everything was completely blanketed with ice when waves breaking on the lake’s shore hardened into a solid coating in the sub-freezing temperatures. Several boats even sank under the weight of the ice. The wind gusts reached 110 km/h (60 mph) and literally froze water sprays in their place.

Devil’s Bridge

Kromlauer Park is a gothic style, 200-acre country park in the municipality of Kromlau in the Görlitz Gablenzgasse district in Germany. An incredible attraction of the park is the Rakotzbrücke, more popularly known as Devil’s Bridge.

The impressive arch bridge was built around 1860. During its construction, other peculiar rock formations were built on the lake and in the park. Devil’s Bridge is no longer open to the public to ensure its preservation. A unique feature of the bridge is that its reflection on the water’s surface creates a flawless circle, regardless of which side is being viewed.

“Enchanted River - Phillipines
‘NO ONE HAS EVER REACHED ITS BOTTOM’ Enchanted River is found in the Phillipines. It is called “enchanted” because no one has ever reached its bottom. Many people, including scuba divers have tried reaching for the bottom but have failed, hence the legend of its bottomless pit. Moreover, locals share that NOBODY has been successful in catching the fish in this river, whether by hand or by spear. They say its bluish color is a result of its depth and the water clarity changes throughout the day. At around 12:00pm, the water becomes clearer and even more majestic.”
